Friday Memes 11/1

Book Blogger Hop

The Question:
When you are out of town, do you still participate in weekly memes or do you have your post scheduled to appear on your blog and perhaps check back? Or do you not participate at all?

My Answer:
I honestly have only been out of town once since I took over this blog and that was for about a week to visit my sister who was in a year long GFA School of Discipleship program. We spent every day at the GFA offices volunteering and they had wifi so I was able to still get my posts up and check back occasionally.

"Please join me every Friday to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author's name."

Dear Sir,                                                                                                                                 ~ April 2

It has been a year since I turned down your generous offer. Father John warned me at the time that I was making a terrible mistake, but I wouldn't listen. He felt that by dismissing the opportunity I was injuring not only myself, but all the foster children helped by your foundation.
Dear Mr. Knightly by Katherine Reay

My Thoughts
This beginning definitely raises questions! Of course having read the synopsis I had most of the answers but still! This was a good beginning to what is shaping up to be a very unique book!

Hi Abbi,

Sorry, your words were so intriguing, that I just had to check out the full synopsis!

Not to give anything away to other commenters, I will say that I found the theme of the book very relevant right now and some of the wording in the synopsis hit home immediately.

I do hope that you 'enjoy' the book when you get to it and have a good weekend,

Yvonne

Yeah, I hardly go anywhere as well.

Btw, that's one interesting beginning. It makes me wonder why he/she turned down the offer.

That's an intriguing opening! I'm wondering if the person who's writing the letter decided to accept the offer after all. Now I'll have to read the synopsis to find out more!

With so many different ways (phone, laptop, iPad etc.) to get on the internet, it is easy to post from wherever you are I suppose!
