Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish
So I did this topic as one of the rewind weeks last year so I was going to try to make a completely new list and while I did manage to do that I changed my mind and decided to actually do a mix of the two for my TOP ten books that made me cry! To choose which ones would make the cut I picked the books that I cried enough to make reading almost impossible. And I also limited myself to two books per author, otherwise Julie Lessman would have taken over this list! These aren't in any order!
The Healer by Dee Henderson
Baroness by Susan May Warren
Duchess by Susan May Warren
A Passion Most Pure by Julie Lessman
A Hope Undaunted by Julie Lessman
Blue Skies Tomorrow by Sarah Sundin
On Distant Shores by Sarah Sundin
Chasing Jupiter by Rachel Coker
Yesterday's Tomorrow by Catherine West
By the Light of the Silvery Moon by Tricia Goyer

YES to Yesterday's Tomorrow! I remember reading it in my dorm room at college and starting to really cry, and my roommate had to remind me it was fiction. ;) Very moving read!

Amber-I was in my sister's room while reading part of it and she kept laughing at me because I kept getting sad or ranting at the book and she found it amusing to watch me experience emotional trauma at the hands of a book!
ReplyDeleteWOW, what a UNIQUE (and fun, despite the weepy subject) blog!! I LOVE to cry in a book, so looks like I have a few to add to my list, although I agree with you on a number of these wonderful books!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for including me, you sweet thing!!
Hugs,
Julie
Hi, Abbi!
ReplyDeleteI KNEW Julie's Lessman's books would be on this list - I SO agree with your comment that if you didn't limit the list to 2 books per author, Julie's would have taken up the entire list!! "A Hope Undaunted" is her book that has caused me to shed the most tears - just finished it a couple of days ago !! SO glad that along with all of those tears we shed, she includes some scenes that make us laugh - but what touches me the most is the warmth, and inspiration!!
Can't get enough of her books !!
Thanks for the list - will check out the other books, also !!
Julie-Thanks! I wouldn't say I love to cry but it's a sign that the book is well written if it can actually make me cry!
ReplyDeleteHaha your books were the very first on my list!
Bonnie-Yeah Julie's books definitely bring out the tears but she does do a great job of balancing all the emotional elements! AHU was the one that made me cry the most too but APMP was close behind!
ReplyDeleteGuess I have to read some Julie Lessman books! I'm a sucker for a good book that makes me cry!

Nicole-I highly recommend them!! Some of the best books ever!
ReplyDeleteLove your list! Looks like I need to read Sarah's, Rachel's, and Catherine's books! LOVE the others!!!
ReplyDeleteCyndi-If you love the other ones I mentioned then you will definitely love Sarah's, Catherine's, and Rachel's!
