Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish
This week's top ten assignment is to pick some "older" books that we loved and don't want people to forget about. I could only find about 5 ones that I considered older so I convinced Katie to join me and list five of her picks!
Abbi's Picks
Love Comes Softly by Janette Oke
I grew up on this series and love it just as much now as I did when I first read them. Also if you have seen the Hallmark version of this series please know that this is COMPLETELY different and way better!
This Present Darkness/Piercing the Darkness by Frank Peretti
These novels were groundbreaking for supernatural Christian fiction, with high suspense and powerful spiritual themes.
Favorite: Piercing the Darkness
Firebird Trilogy by Kathy Tyers
Some of the first science fiction I read - spaceships and telepathy made them extra cool.

I never heard of these books before, but the covers look great! :)
J'adore Happy Endings
Good morning, I remember many of these titles and have re-read some too, you have a good selection here. I have started again reading Francine Rivers "Mark of the Lion" series, I love to re-read when it is a good story with much to learn from it..

I completely agree that the book series of Love Comes Softly is better than the movies. The Movies got so far away from the books that it wasn't even funny. After reading the books and then watching the movies I was completely lost. The first three were the only ones that tried to stay close to the books, but they were still off.
whoo Firebird!!!! I LOVE these books :)
I had completely forgotten In Grandma's Attic! I loved it as a child. And as an adult, Frank Peretti is one of my favorite authors. Great additions to the list.

I spent most of my time reading this list bouncing in my seat with excitement. I LOVE Lori Wick and Lori Copeland, and Dee Henderson's O'Malleys are just... Augh, they're so good. I was a Jack fan, personally.
And I'm so excited that someone else knows the Derwood books! ABANDONED was my favorite, but the whole series was great. High-five!

I still think maybe the best Christian Novels I have ever read are still Frank Peretti's The Oath and C.S. Lewis,s That Hideous Strength. However thanks for the list you gave me some books to try.
