About the Book
Tracy Campbell never wanted to leave Hope Harbor, Oregon, or the idyllic three-generation cranberry farm where she grew up. But life--and love--altered her plans. When tragedy strikes and changes her plans yet again, she finds herself back in her hometown with a floundering farm to run and a heartbreaking secret. Romance is not on her agenda. Nor is it on Michael Hunter's. The visitor from Chicago has daunting secrets of his own. But when Tracy recruits him to help save a struggling charitable organization, the winds of change begin to sweep through Hope Harbor, bringing healing, hope, and love to countless lives--including their own.
Fan favorite Irene Hannon brings a whole new cast of characters to life in a charming Oregon seaside village. Emotional and heartwarming, this story invites readers to come home to Hope Harbor, where love and hope bloom--and hearts heal.
My Thoughts
After trying to read a book that just wasn't for me I breathed a sigh of relief when I discovered that this was the next book on my list because I know that when I pick up an Irene Hannon book I'm in for an amazing and well-written story! Whether it's her romantic suspense or her contemporary romance this author knows how to capture a reader and keep them hooked until the last page, and that was certainly the case with this book! I read it over a rather busy weekend but I still finished it in about three sittings!
Michael and Tracy were both great characters! I loved the way they both selflessly gave of themselves to help others and it was sweet to watch as they both overcame their pasts and found a second chance at love. I also really liked Anna's character and enjoyed seeing her come out of her self-imposed isolation.
And lastly, I loved the strong message of forgiveness and second chances that ran through the book. All of the main characters had hurts and mistakes in their pasts and it was awesome to see how God worked through each of their lives to bring them to a place of healing and love. Everything about this book was wonderful and I can't wait to visit Hope Harbor again in book two!
