About the Book
Nikki Boyd's flight into Nashville was routine--up until the crash landing at the airport. When the dust settles, Nikki discovers that the woman who had been seated next to her on the plane is missing--and no one will admit she was ever there. Erika Hamilton had been flying to Nashville with an air marshal as a key witness in an upcoming grand jury trial. When she flees from the crash, is she running from trouble or straight into it? Before Nikki can even see her family, she and her team are pulled into a missing persons case where the motives are as unclear as the suspects.
Bestselling and award-winning author Lisa Harris has planted danger around every turn in this can't-put-it-down thrill ride that will leave readers stunned.
My Thoughts
This author definitely knows how to launch you into the story! From the plane crash in the very first chapter till the case gets wrapped up there is non-stop action to keep you on the edge of your seat! I honestly don't know how one person could handle everything Nikki went through, especially in such a short time! Nikki is definitely a heroine to be admired. She has a fierce determination and desire to protect and she won't give up until the case is resolved. Tyler is really great too, though we don't get to see much of him. But I loved the way he was always there for Nikki without pushing her. They really are a great couple and I enjoyed seeing their story play out.
This story never slowed down and I couldn't stop reading to see what was going to happen next! Definitely an adventure from page one and I highly recommend this series!

Sandpiper Cove by Irene Hannon
About the Book
Hope Harbor police chief Lexie Graham has plenty on her plate raising her son alone and dealing with a sudden rash of petty theft and vandalism in her coastal Oregon hometown. As a result, she has zero time for extracurricular activities--including romance. Ex-con Adam Stone isn't looking for love either--but how ironic is it that the first woman to catch his eye is a police chief? Yet wishing for things that can never be is foolish.
Nevertheless, when Lexie enlists Adam's help to keep a young man from falling into a life of crime, sparks begin to fly. And as they work together, it soon becomes apparent that God may have a different--and better--future planned for them than either could imagine.
Lauded by Library Journal as "a master at character development," Irene Hannon welcomes readers back to this charming Oregon seaside village where hearts heal--and love blooms.
My Thoughts
I'm falling a bit in love with Hope Harbor and it's residents and I enjoy each opportunity to visit. Adam was an awesome hero! He'd been dealt a rough hand in life and had made some very wrong choices but I loved the way he'd turned his life around, determined to be the best man he could be. And the way he quietly lent a helping hand whenever it was needed. Lexie was also pretty great. I admired how she put her life back together after her loss. Together they made a cute if a bit unconventional couple. I liked how Lexie judged Adam on the man he was now rather than who he'd been.
I also enjoyed the story of finding the vandals and everything that that entailed. I won't spoil anything though!
Basically everything about this book was well-done and I loved it. I couldn't wait to come back to it every time I had to set it down!

Sins of the Past Novella Collection
About the Book
In Dee Henderson's Missing a Wyoming sheriff is called to Chicago when his elderly mother goes missing. Paired with a savvy Chicago cop, the two realize her disappearance is no accident, and a race against the clock begins.
Dani Pettrey returns to Alaska with Shadowed introducing readers to the parents of her beloved McKenna clan. Adventure, romance, and danger collide when a young fisherman nets the body of an open-water swimming competitor who may actually be a possible Russian defector.
Lynette Eason's Blackout delivers the story of a woman once implicated in a robbery gone wrong. The loot has never been found--but her memory of that night has always been unreliable. Can she remember enough to find her way to safety when the true culprit comes after her?
My Thoughts
Missing
I absolutely love this author's early work but ever since she started writing again after her long hiatus I'm honestly not a fan. That being said I was a little wary of this novella, though that didn't stop me. It felt very much like an episode of a crime drama which was kinda fun and different. I would have enjoyed a bit more romance but at the same time I was glad that they didn't suddenly make it a big thing which would have just felt way too fake. Overall it wasn't a bad read but it definitely wasn't a favorite.
Shadowed
Honestly this story is the main reason I wanted to get my hands on this collection. I adore Dani's Alaskan Courage series and I was so excited to get the story of the McKenna's parents! Thankfully it was everything I was hoping for and more! From their amusing first meeting, to when they visited the site of the future McKenna home, to them discussing what they hoped their family would look like, was absolutely adorable and perfect! I loved how it was set during the Cold War since I don't think I've ever read a book set during that time. And the mystery kept me on my toes! It was definitely easy to see where their kids got their adventurous natures from!
Blackout
This was an action-packed novella and was quite fun to read! I was totally drawn into figuring out the mystery of what had happened the night of the robbery years ago and who was involved. Chad and Macey were great characters and I liked them together. All in all it was a great short story!
