Without Warning by Lynette Eason

About the Book
Katie Singleton, a partner with the Elite Guardians Protection Agency, stumbles upon her next assignment quite by accident. Spotting blue lights at a familiar restaurant, she stops to investigate, only to discover that owner Daniel Matthews has become the target of someone who will go to any lengths to put him out of business.
Daniel might be concerned, but he's not convinced that a bodyguard--and a female one at that--is necessary. A new attack and his niece's urgings are enough to make him reconsider. He and Katie must figure out who's behind the intimidation and threats--before a would-be killer strikes again.

Witty dialogue and a simmering attraction will have readers flying through this tension-laced thriller. Eason exercises complete control of her readers' emotions as they race through the pages to discover the truth.

My Thoughts
Lynette Eason's novels never fail to capture my attention and keep me on the edge of my seat and that was true of this one as well.
Daniel and Katie were very well suited for each other and while their relationship was a little fast paced I still enjoyed watching their romance play out. They had quite a lot in common and I loved how they complemented each other.
The mystery of who was behind the attacks was intriguing though I did have my suspicions early on (and I was right!). Everything played out in a fast paced manor and I was rapidly turning pages to see what happened. The ending was quite similar to Eason's others, which is getting a bit cliched but otherwise it was great! I thoroughly enjoyed this story from the start to the finish and I can't wait to read the next installment in this series!

Top Ten Books I'd Buy Right Now if Someone Gave Me a Fully Loaded Gift Card

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

This week's actual topic was "Ten Books That Have Been On Your Shelf (Or TBR) From Before You Started Blogging That You STILL Haven't Read Yet" but a made a goal one year to have read every book I owned and I did it! It only lasted about a day and now I have about 70 unread pretties sitting on my shelves. But that one day means that I have exactly zero books that have been unread on my shelf since before I started blogging! That being said I decided to go with one of the topics I missed in my unplanned absence these last two months!

#1. I'll Be Yours by Jenny B. Jones

#2. Close to You by Kara Issac

#3. The Goodbye Bride by Denise Hunter

#4. Forever Doon by Carey Corp & Lorie Langdon

#5. Embers by Ronie Kendig

#6. A Flight of Arrows by Lori Benton

#7. From This Moment by Elizabeth Camden

#8. The Sound of Diamonds by Rachelle Rea

#9. The Selection Series by Keira Cass

#10. Told You So by Kristen Heitzman

My Humblest Apologies

I just wanted to write a quick post to say sorry that I have been MIA in the blogosphere this summer! These last couple months have just flown by in a whirlwind of busyness and blogging got set on the back burner. Other than being crazy busy the main contributing factor to my absence is that my summer schedule is quite different than my normal fall through spring schedule. You see, I am a nanny and I typically arrive at work an hour or so before my charge wakes up and I get my blogging done in that window of time. But since the mom that I work for is a teacher she is off for the summer and so I worked three jobs this summer all of which didn't have the built in time for blogging that I am used to. And that led to me forgetting to post on my normal blogging days. So long story short I am sorry I haven't been posting these past few months and I will try to get back on track these next couple weeks!

Some of the highlights of my summer included: birthday parties galore (my family has several summer b-days), lots of quality time with my favorite littles, one of my sisters coming in for a visit and another sister coming back for a while, going to see Luke Bryan (with Dustin Lynch and Little Big Town) in concert, the family I nanny for had their second little girl (she's adorable), and I got to go to Disney World with my brother and his family!

What were some of your favorite things about this summer?

Fetching Sweetness by Dana Mentink

About the Book
Standing Between Stephanie and Her Dream
Is One Hundred Pounds of Lovable Trouble
It should have been so simple for Stephanie Pink: Meet up with Agnes Wharton in a small town in California, retrieve the reclusive author's valuable new manuscript, and be promoted to a full-fledged literary agent.
But Agnes's canine companion, Sweetness, decides to make a break for it before Stephanie can claim her prize. Until Agnes has Sweetness safely back at home in Eagle Cliff, Washington, Stephanie will never set eyes on the manuscript she needs to make her dreams come true.
When Stephanie tracks the runaway mutt to a campground, she meets Rhett Hastings—a man also on the run from a different life and a costly mistake. Rhett agrees to help Stephanie search for the missing dog...thus launching a surprising string of adventures and misadventures.

Once Sweetness gets added to the mix, it's a recipe for love and loss, merriment and mayhem, fun and faith in the backwoods of the Pacific Northwest.

My Thoughts
This was a cute fast read. I'm not much of a dog person but I still found the story enjoyable and it brought a few smiles to my face. There was a bit more depth to the story than I expected as Rhett and Stephanie both journeyed to the discovery that our plan and God's plan are not always the same but His plan is always best for us in the end. Both of the main characters were likable and their love story was cute albeit the fact that it was rather quick. The plot was entertaining though at times it felt a bit rushed especially at the end. Overall though I had fun reading it and if you're looking for a light read this may just be the book for you!
