I enjoyed the first chapter of this book and would definitely read the whole thing. The Middle East is so complicated that I think fiction is actually a better way of understanding the situation than reading the news. The way the castle in the first chapter has changed hands back and forth, been fought over and also been "invaded" by tourists is a perfect example of that perspective. I just finished John Grisham's The Broker and this book looks like it would be both fast-paced and informative. Hope I win!

It is true, the "funny" Brad Whittington is not in evidence very often in "Hell in a Briefcase" but he does occasionally peek through the curtains, most notably in the characters of Bernie and Roff. (Roff is actually a tribute to one of my favorite characters in fiction.)
