Friday Memes 5/10

The Question:
What was the last book you re-read? Or name a book you would like to re-read?

My Answer:
The last book I reread was Waterfall by Lisa T. Bergren. As for books I want to reread I have a very long list. Before I got into reviewing I had a much smaller selection of books to read so I had a bunch of books that I would read at least once a year and I'd love to read those ones again as well as some new ones!

"Please join me every Friday to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author's name."

Jack slowed his pace, his courage once more waning at the sight of the Westbrook home across the way. Anxiety twisted his stomach in a knot. But in the dusky light, Lilly's glow of confidence reignited his own flame. She understood her parents far better than he did. Since she believed her father would agree to the marriage, why should he hesitate?
Love on a Dime by Cara Lynn James

My Thoughts
Well written opening you can really feel Jack's emotions!

Hi Abbi,

Cara Lynn James is a new author to me, however 'Love On a Dime' sounds like a good book and if confronted by those first few lines, I would definitely want to keep reading on.

A man actually going to talk to a prospective fiancee's father, to request their daughter's hand in marriage ... a rare thing in this day and age!

It is also good to see that this is the first book in the series, so there isn't a chance that I may have already missed a vital part of the storyline.

These books have definite potential, so thanks for sharing and have a good weekend,

Yvonne.
