Well my very first thought was excitement about finally read this book! But in regards to the sentence it definitely makes you pause and go "Wait a minute! What?!" Great beginning!

Great first lines, I really did have to cheat a little and check out the full synopsis, to find out a bit more about what might be going on here.
I won't say any more, so as not to spoil this passage for other commenters, but suffice to say, the book sounds great, Susan May Warren has a fantastic website and I hope that you enjoy reading.

Yvonne-Thanks for stopping by! So glad this beginning got you to check out Susan May Warren! She is my favorite author and this is the last of her 43 books I need to read to have read them all. Also this book is really good!
I usually don't either. But this year I thought it would be fun joining a Scary Reading Challenge and scary blog hops for the month. Now I am one scary movie down and three scare books in. I can't wait till its over.
I don't like to read spooky, scary books either.
