Friday Memes 7/18

Book Blogger Hop

The Question:
Do covers pull you in?

My Answer:
Yes! I love book covers! I'd never buy one solely on the cover but they definitely pique my interest!

Hosted by: Rose City Reader

"Please join me every Friday to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author's name."

Rick Dial streaked through the vastness of  space, starlight and gunfire blazing all around him. The seat of his battlecraft shook beneath him as he pressed the button to unleash another deadly barrage from his two forward guns.

My Thoughts
Even though knowing the synopsis of the book makes this less of a capturing beginning it still sucks you in pretty well!

It does sound pretty exciting. What is the title of the book? Or is it a big mystery, too?

I agree that a good cover can be just what's need to pique one's interest!

Covers pull me in too.

Covers definitely draw me in but on the other hand they can also push me away! Definitely a good beginning, I love myself some good sci-fi space battles! Thanks for sharing :) I hope you have a great weekend!

I love a good cover too! I agree about it being the beginning though I'm definitely far more likely to pick up a book to read the blurb if the cover catches my eye!

A book's cover and title make me pick it up, but the blurb makes me decide whether or not I want to read it. Sounds like today's book is a sci-fi adventure. I like the image of blazing guns and stars. What's the title?

It seems like a good sci-fi novel.

I agree...covers do get my attention and make me want to look at the book. Most times the inside is as good as the outside. :) Only a few times are they not good on the outside and bad on the inside.

Happy Hopping!!

I often pick up a book solely on the cover without reading the synopsis. Even bought them....

Anne-Sorry I forgot to put that in! I was exhausted and rushed! It's fixed now!

Jolene-It definitely helps!

Billy- :)

Juli-Yeah they can go either way!

Katherine-I can't fathom buying a book solely on it's cover! I HAVE to know if the story itself sounds good!

Sandra-Same here! Added the title-sorry!

Claudia-Yeah!

Tea-So far it's very good!

Elizabeth-That's true!

Cassie-I don't think I could do that!
