My Thoughts
So I seriously considered just angrily hitting random keys until I had a paragraph and then ending with "and that's how I really feel!" But I decided to be a good person and actually try to voice my thoughts (and though my first sentence might have made you think I hate the book that is not the case at all!).
I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this book and I almost didn't request it. But I hadn't really read anything set during this time so I decided to give it a shot. At first I really wasn't getting into the book. It was one of those times where there was absolutely nothing necessarily wrong with the book it just wasn't fully snagging my attention. But then I got sucked in and finished the remainder of the book in one day. It is really hard to find words for this book and I literally went through the full spectrum of emotions while reading. I was smiling, laughing, sighing, groaning, crying, yelling in frustration and anger, and muttering under my breath. (If you don't believe me you can ask my sister who enjoyed laughing at me while I read!) The story was amazingly well written and the author did a great job of portraying the horrors of what was going on while not getting too graphic. The characters were great (even if they did drive me bonkers at times) and Jonno (Kristin and Luke's friend) was my absolute favorite! All in all this book was very good and I highly recommend it as long as you enjoy books that bring out all of your emotions!

There are a couple instances of God's name being taken in vain as well as a couple uses of the bad word for donkey and the place of fire and brimstone. Also there's mention of a couple who are "together" before marriage but absolutely no detail is given.
About the Author
Catherine West is an award-winning author who writes stories of hope and healing from her island home in
Bermuda. Her first novel, "Yesterday's Tomorrow", won the INSPY for Romance, a Silver Medal in the Reader's Favorite Awards, and was a finalist in the Grace Awards. Catherine's second novel, "Hidden in the Heart", was also a finalist for a Grace Award.
