Shadows of the Past by Patricia Bradley

About the Book
Psychology professor and criminal profiler Taylor Martin prides herself on being able to solve any crime, except the one she wants most desperately to solve--the disappearance of her father twenty years ago. When she finally has a lead on his whereabouts, Taylor returns home to Logan Point, Mississippi, to investigate. But as she is stalking the truth about the past, someone is stalking her.
Nick Sinclair pens mystery novels for a living, but the biggest mystery to him is how he can ever get over the death of his wife--a tragedy he believes he could have prevented. With his estranged brother the only family he has left, Nick sets out to find him. But when he crosses paths with Taylor, all he seems to find is trouble.

Join the chase as this determined duo search the murky shadows of the past for the keys to unlocking the present and moving into a future filled with new hope and love. Readers will be swept into the sultry South in this debut novel from a promising and already award-winning writer.

My Thoughts
I loved this book. I wasn't sure what to expect but it sounded interesting and I love romantic suspense so I decided to give it a try-and I am so glad I did!
From the very first sentence I was sucked in and wanted to know what was happening. We were rather busy when I was reading this so it took me a bit to get through but if I'd had the time I can easily see myself finishing it in one sitting!
This author did a fantastic job of weaving a wonderful tale that kept me guessing! There were several different mysteries and even though I found myself figuring out a couple things there were even more that I didn't see coming at all! Which I think is the perfect blend!
Taylor and Nick were great characters! They both had things to work through from their pasts and it was cool to watch them overcome them! And they both had rather cool jobs! The other characters were great too especially Livy, who I'm really hoping the next book is about!

Sorry this is a shorter review but I don't want to give anything away, since the mystery is one of the best parts about this book! Suffice it to say though that this was a fantastic book that I'd recommend to all suspense lovers! I can't wait to see what else this author has for us!
