Friday Memes 1/9

Book Blogger Hop

The Question:
If you could have dinner with your favorite character, who would it be?

My Answer:
I would have dinner with the O'Conner family from Julie Lessman's books! I'd join them for one of their big family gatherings and get to hang out with everyone!

"Please join me every Friday to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author's name."

"Here you go, Mrs. Petrie. I double-taped the box as you like, so it stays nice and fresh." Wynn blew a wisp of brown hair out of her face.
The flabby skin of Mrs. Petrie's jowls pulled inward as she pursed her lips. "Did you dust it with extra coconut on top like I requested?" Her indignant tone resonated in the tiny shop.

My Thoughts
This immediately made me feel like I was at my part-time job at our local bakery!

I haven't read the Lessman books but I love books with big family gatherings. Fun choice! The beginning made me cringe a little. Some people are just never happy and it sounds like Mrs. Petrie is one of those people.

I imagine it would be hard to remember "the customer is always right" when dealing with Mrs. Petrie! Sounds like she's never satisfied. I'd definitely keep reading.

I like the name of the shoppe. Not crazy about the owner of the shoppe. She seems too picky.

Katherine-Series about family are some of my absolute favorites and coming from a family of 11 I am no stranger to big family gatherings! It made me cringe too!

Sandra-Yeah she seems like a tough customer!

Elizabeth-You should definitely meet them! They're the best!

Topazshell-Not sure what you are talking about since the shop name isn't mentioned and the owner is polite...
