Bout of Books 6.0 Day 3 Challenge

This challenge is hosted by Booking in Heels and is called The Page 48 Challenge. 

Here are the rules:

1. Turn to page 48 of your current book, or 48% if you're using an e-reader.
2. Take the first complete sentence on that page and copy it.
3. Now you're going to continue the story! Ignoring the real plot or anything else you know about that book, add four new sentences of your very own. You can morph the plot completely, kill everybody off or go off on a huge tangent - anything goes!

Dodger Jim punched me in the jaw. I reeled back in surprise, as pain ricocheted through my face. I couldn't believe my best friend had actually punched me, and over a girl no less! But best friend or not I wasn't one to let anyone get away with any form of bodily injury. So the second I regained my bearings my fist was flying towards his face.
