MY THOUGHTS:
It started with the cover, it was completely unique and snagged my attention immediately, then I read the synopsis and I knew I had to read this book. But even though this book sounded amazing, I tried to keep my expectations low. One never knows what to expect from a debut author and I didn't want to get my hopes too high only to have the book not be as good as I imagined. However all that worry was for naught since this book was simply amazing, far surpassing even my highest expectations and hopes! I loved every second and was completely swept away. From the very first sentence I was hooked and I devoured the book as quickly as my busy schedule allowed.
Everything about it was so unique and interesting! I loved how it was kind of a twist on Robin Hood yet so different that you didn't find yourself comparing it to the legend. I also loved the fact that the group was made entirely of children, life dealt them a hard hand but they didn't let that stop them. The tumbling aspect was so much fun and had me wishing I could do the tricks that they could.
Merry was brilliant! I was amazed by how talented she was for being so young and was very impressed by how she took charge and trained the group. I also liked how she never put on airs even though she'd once been a lady. Timothy was a great hero and even though he hadn't always made the best choices, he was there when it counted. I loved the verbal banter between Merry and Timothy and it was fun to watch them rekindle the feelings they'd had when they were younger.
As for the rest of the Ghosts of Farthingale, they were so fun and unique and I loved them all! I can't wait to read Allen's story in Chivalrous!

ABOUT THE BOOK
Where Legend and History Collide,
One Young Woman Will Fight for the Innocent
Born a baron's daughter, Lady Merry Ellison is now an enemy of the throne after her father's failed assassination attempt upon the king. Bold and uniquely skilled, she is willing to go to any lengths to protect the orphaned children of her former village--a group that becomes known as "The Ghosts of Farthingale Forest." Merry finds her charge more difficult as their growing notoriety brings increasing trouble their way.
Timothy Grey, ninth child of the Baron of Greyham, longs to perform some feat so legendary that he will rise from obscurity and earn a title of his own. When the Ghosts of Farthingale Forest are spotted in Wyndeshire, where he serves as assistant to the local earl, he might have found his chance. But when he comes face-to-face with the leader of the thieves, he's forced to reexamine everything he's known.
