My Thoughts
Reading this book was bittersweet. On one hand I was ecstatic to read it since I've adored the other four books in this series and couldn't wait to read Reef's story. But on the other hand I was quite sad to have to say goodbye to the McKennas. But that all left my mind as soon as I read the first pages and got completely sucked in. The action was non-stop from page one, and I could not stop turning pages. Dani Pettrey definitely knows how to grab her reader's attention and not let it go till they are reading the last sentence.
I loved Reef and Kirra and it was so much fun to watch their love story unfold. It was so cute how they'd grown up not liking each other very much but then ended up falling in love. They were so opposite and that just made their romance all that more adorable.
I thought the setting of the Iditarod was genius and unique, though it did have me thinking of Snow Dogs quite a lot!
And lastly even though it was so hard to say goodbye to this amazing family, the ending scene was beyond perfect and left me with a huge dopey grin on my face.
In short this book, and this series, are just so stinkin' good and if you haven't read them yet you need to do so ASAP!
