CSFF: Hunter Brown and the Secret of the Shadow

I enjoyed this month's CSFF selection, Hunter Brown and the Secret of the Shadow. The beginning took a little to get into (and granted I'm not a 14-year-old boy), but the story keep me engaged throughout and the ending twist completely surprised me. I'd have it beside me to give more detailed commentary, but my two youngest siblings are currently fighting over it. Both my 12-year-old brother and 11-year-old sister are partway through the story and wanting to finish it before each other. Good news - there's a online version of the book you can read for free at the Miller brothers' website. Bad news - the internet here has been awful all day (accounting for this late post).

Be sure to stop by the website to watch the book trailer, start reading the novel, and register for cool games and a contest (win a Wii, anyone?). Visit the blogs below for more about the book:

I agree with you that younger teen boys will find the start pretty interesting. It's great to hear the reaction of your younger brother and sister. I'm not surprised. I think they are smack inside the target age range.

Good news is that the games you mentioned at the Codebearer site are ongoing. The bad news is, the deadline to win the prize is passed, but I understand there will be another one as the release date for the next book approaches.

Thanks for participating in the tour, Katie.

Thanks for letting me and my readers know about the deadline passing. I was going to go to the site to get details and a direct link, but the internet was so bad that evening I was fortunate to view my email and blogger!

Thank you so much for the tip. I love it when you can read a book for free online! I found one you and your boys might like. It's called His Edge about a test pilot in WWII. It's a clean and exiting adventure.
