Friday Memes 5/6

Book Blogger Hop

The Question:
Why did you start your blog?

My Answer:
Not sure exactly why my sister started this blog to begin with, but I took it over to review books and connect with other readers.

"Please join me every Friday to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author's name."

Lillian Avery's dream couldn't have come true at a worse time. In the pale afternoon sun slating through the kitchen window, Dad sat at the table building a model ship while humming "On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand," and Mom gathered kitchen gadgets.

My Thoughts
Love that first sentence!

Great reason to want to keep it open! I think we all decided at some point that this would be a great way to connect :)

I had a vague sense of why I started this blog, but I scanned through some of my early posts to make sure!

I started Christian Novels to discuss my writing process and various rules and tips for writing. That led to dissecting different novels and authors' methods of writing. I didn't start reviewing books on the blog until book blogging became more popular (I started in 2004 and the CFBA, one of the first organizations for Christian book blogging, started in 2006).

I love the connecting part.

I started my blog mainly to put down my thoughts about books.

Thanks for sharing.

Happy Hopping!!
