Top Ten "Older" Books You Don't Want People To Forget About

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

This week's top ten assignment is to pick some "older" books that we loved and don't want people to forget about. I could only find about 5 ones that I considered older so I convinced Katie to join me and list five of her picks!

Abbi's Picks

Love Comes Softly by Janette Oke
I grew up on this series and love it just as much now as I did when I first read them. Also if you have seen the Hallmark version of this series please know that this is COMPLETELY different and way better!
Favorite: Love's Long Journey

The Californians by Lori Wick
I could honestly read this series over and over again-and I have! Trust me they are awesome!
Favorite: Sean Donovan

The Yellow Rose Trilogy by Lori Wick
Another fun series I love to reread!
Favorite: A Texas Sky

The Men of the Saddle by Lori Copeland
Again a series I've reread many times, I love the first three best and reread them a lot more than the fourth
Favorite: The Drifter

The O'Malley Series by Dee Henderson
This is one of the best series ever! If you haven't read them yet you really have to-so good!
Favorite: The Truth Seeker&The Protector

Katie's Picks

Peabody Adventure Series by Jeri Massi
This was one of my favorite series to read as a kid (and beyond!). Loved the adventure and mystery.
Favorite: Abandoned

The Secret of the Rose by Michael Phillips
I loved the secret passageways and German setting of these novels!
Favorite: A Rose Remembered

This Present Darkness/Piercing the Darkness by Frank Peretti
These novels were groundbreaking for supernatural Christian fiction, with high suspense and powerful spiritual themes.
Favorite: Piercing the Darkness

Firebird Trilogy by Kathy Tyers
Some of the first science fiction I read - spaceships and telepathy made them extra cool.
Favorite: Firebird

In Grandma's Attic by Arleta Richardson
I had fun "growing up" with this series, as the two best friends went from childhood to teen years to marriage and beyond.
Favorite: Away From Home & A School of Her Own
